🌈The Value of Doing the Work
“You don’t know how much time I would’ve saved if I had known all these workshops earlier.”
Today I had an opportunity to chat with a course mate of mine.
He was a successful entrepreneur who made a lot of money in his 30s and retired early, yet interestingly he conveyed a lot of admiration for young people who attend personal development workshops.
When I shared with him how I’m going to China for a family constellation course, followed up by a psychodrama workshop, he told me how he wished he would’ve been able to do so when he was young too.
“These workshops you attend will pay great dividends in your life. Great investment.”
For those who’re not familiar, those are psychology-based workshops. Workshops that work directly on our subconscious, past hurts, and perhaps trauma.
People may not know it, yet when we don’t look at some of what’s in the subconscious that’s driving us, that’s how we have people who…
- Repeat the same relationship pattern, attracting the same abusive partner who doesn’t treat them well.
- Build themselves up to great success, yet couldn’t sustain it over and over again.
- Stay stuck in a life that’s not fulfilling and lack the ability to create what they want.
Those are some examples of how our unconscious could affect us.
He shared with me how if he had done “the work” earlier, it would have shifted how he decided on his career, how he chose his life partner, what he values which in fact, changes everything.
Our subconscious creates our life.
This friend of mine reminded me of the value of doing “the work”.
