I think the core foundation of many integrations and healings are just the ability to be with and not react.

Lately 2025-06-22, one of observations my teachers had of me was I would “jump the gun” for my own processes.

I would see my own negative emotions and go “Yea, this should be related to mother issue again. What’s next is usually just…”

The issue with the above is that I lost the presence with myself. Hence, the real emotions cannot surface and I can’t integrate. The emotions remain stuck in the body.

I’d like to think the above example extends to many cases too. When an emotion becomes uncomfortable…

  • Some people would go to the mind and think a lot of solutions.
  • Some would react / scold / judge others or themselves.
  • Some would jump immediately to the next phase of healing: E.g. visualizing light pouring down and so on.
  • Some would just shut down and disconnect from the body.

All of them are to alleviate the unpleasant sensation that we couldn’t be with.

Yet the path of healing, if we can’t hold the unpleasant sensations and taste such emotions - if it’s often repressed away in the psyche and we can’t heal those aspects effectively. They would likely still flare out again in the future.

I see my peers who make great progress in integration: They are masters at leaning into the uncomfortable.

Which is why the ability to just watch and be with all emotions is quite a superpower.
